Table Mountain rises straight out of a city, so most of it has signal of some kind. Most, not all: on the back of the mountain, in its ravines and on some of its paths, the signal weakens or goes. This is what phones with LastBar measured there.
What phones found
When this page was written, on 26 October 2026, phones had measured 393 spots of about 0.1 km² within 6 km of the mountain, most of them in the city bowl around it. By the best signal of any carrier: 6 with no signal, 29 weak, 102 fair, 138 good and 118 excellent. The box above shows the figures as they are today. On the mountain itself far fewer spots have been measured so far than in the city below it.
What that means for a hike
- Do not count on signal everywhere on the mountain: ravines and the slopes facing away from the city can be out of range.
- If you lose signal, climbing back to an open spot facing the city usually brings it back.
- Save the area in LastBar, so Find Signal can point you to the nearest signal with no connection.
- Tell someone your route, and take water, a warm layer and a charged phone: the weather on the mountain changes fast.
These are what phones measured, a day old as the public map shows them, and not a promise. Hiking on the mountain with LastBar fills in the map for the next person.
